Default help please 97 dodge 1500 auto 4x4

Recently traded fit this 97 dodge 4x4 v8 think it's a 5.9 auto Trans...guy said the tranny fluid needed changed and filter it looks dirty when I pull the stick but not black our burnt...any way here's what is going on, truck dies at every stop unless I put it in neutral, all gears are working right now, drove 2 blocks to tire shop the other day and barely had wheel power too back out over ramps...seems too lose power alot yet other times it's great...if i put it in first gear it pulse revs itself without me touching accelerator, low beams stopped working, my question it's could this be something besides a transmission fluid and filter change ptovlem? Something electrical i should check? Oh my abs and parking brake lightd are on too yet i gave my parking brake iff....help please before my local mechanic takes me for a years salary! Task you

Getting any codes?

Check out the plenum thread at the top of this forum. A fair few of your problems are more than likely related to that.
