Haven't had a chance to really drive it yet, I was worried about the 2 extra cylinders. Asking me right now I'm not inpressed, last time I bought something with low miles that was older all I had was oil leaks after I started driving it. This is just depressing, I will let you know once I can drive it.

If you have a place you can work, and some tools, (can probably rent a torque wrench, or other 'special' tools you may need.) You can prolly do the gaskets for under 200. have the heads check by a machine shop, and if you have the scratch, have them do a valve job as well...... Of course, the additional machine work would add to the final tab.

More problems, went to pull the plugs out to check them and the drivers side plugs will not move (rusted in). Looks like this head is completely rusted and the exhaust manifold where you can't even see the bolt heads any more. I don't think I will be doing this job myself as it doesn't look like this will come apart very easy. Thank you everyone for the info.

Chems are your friend. Drown all bolts with a good penetrant. (pb blaster, kroil products, or, home-grown ATF and Acetone mix.)

Where at in michigan?

Bit of a cruise from here..... Ooops.

Got a place to work on it? Basic hand tools? Something else to drive while it is down? Parts aren't really all that expensive, probably less than 200..... another 100 or so in machine work, the rest is going to be labor. If you can do your own, makes it much more affordable.

Yes it is a bit of a cruise from where you are but thanks. I have a barn to work on it but I don't have the time, been working 6 days, kids in sports and helping my mother in law with her house. With the way the bolts look it will take longer than I have time for. Been looking around and found a little cheaper places to fix it as long as nothing major needs to be replaced (head, exhaust manifold). I will keep you posted when I have it repaired.
Thanks again for the info.

Sorry to hear that your new truck gives you such a headache... the V10 is actually a great motor.

Hope you'll get it sorted soon ...

Qiuck responce, I just got my truck back... 1 bad head and the other had bad valves. Bad news is still runs like crap after it gets warm. I took it home from the repair shop to change a few things (coil packs, etc..) to see if it will improve. I will let everyone know when I figure it out.
Thanks for the help!!!
