5.9 360 dont have enought power
I have a 2001 with a 360 gas motor as far as I know it has 410 gear ratio I don't think it has the power that it should have I bought a 25ft gooseneck flat bed trailer and it boggs my truck down when I try to pull it I know I will loose some speed going up a hill but I loose a LOT of speed when going up a hill it don't even what to take off form a dead stop very good. Is there any thing I can do to the motor to give it any more power without buying a cummins they are a little expensive. I have not done anything to the motor except put a new water pump on it so everything is all stock including the plenum I have not changed that it don't look bad down in the throttle body at all. the truck has about 149,000 miles on it. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks for any help.

Cold air intake is waste of money. The stock setup is actually pretty dang good.
2001 every engine came from the factory with a flash that guts the engine.
Read the Plenum sticky and do regular maintence
Get SCT tuner if you get one. It will get rid of it

+1, and looking in the TB with it attached to intake is no way to tell(TB needs to be removed). And your not towing with OD on are you? IIRC, Even the owners manual says to turn it off when you come up on an incline.

+1 more on all stated. EXCEPT for the cold air, it's worthless.
And I've pulled 10,000+lbs with mine. Did fairly well with the 5.2L, 3.55 gears, and 31" tires.
Also asking, how does it do without a load?

yes I take the OD off when on the highway and turn it on when I am on the interstate. but even taking the od off don't help any.
It don't do to bad without a load it losses speed up hill though and I don't think it has the power it used to have.
