Default Drive line u-joint going bad?

I hear noise...from under the cab. I have replace (a year ago) a bad u-joint on passenger side and it was a ticking noise. Now this noise seems to be something with the drive shaft. I have looked at it and cant see any issues. If it is the u-joint i should be able to see that it is going bad?

When my drive shaft joints went out, they squeaked. There was no play that I could tell. When I changed them, one of the joints, the bearings were nothing but dust.

There not expensive or hard to do, I'd just change them if that is what you suspect.

Oh, and I changed the front wheel joints on mine twice within about 8 months. So, yeah, they can go bad rather quick.

The Cardan joint on the front shaft might be bad also. Remove the front shaft and see if the noise goes away.

the drivers side u-joint is gone on my truck and it clicks when i'm driving. very noticeable. on my old Ram the driveshaft u-joints were gone, but as mentioned above, they didn't have any play but the needles in the caps were pretty much toast
