Default Lite rough idle but back shake when accelerating

It started this the day before. it idles a little rough but it runs fine till about 40 mph then it will shutter real bad like either a bad plug or injector. If I let off and stay light on the gas it will do ok or I can floor it and get past 40 but then it will shutter again so either way, I just try to hold it where it wont shutter. It just started to do this. I don't know if I can pull the injectors out and clean and blow them out or maybe is a fouled or plug(s) going bad? It has in the past every once and a while does a hard start which makes me slightly pump the gas and then it will start right up. Is there a filter somewhere in the line maybe? Its just seems like something simple but to find who is the culprit? Its been getting crappy fuel millage or seems like to me. just thought it was the ethanol deal in the gas.

Its a 1999 has the 5.2 motor.

I'm surprised no ideas. Its idling is rough but it seems ok till I get around 40mph then it starts to run rough like a bad shake but if I let off the fuel, it calms down some enough to get where I am going and if I floor it seeing if maybe its a trash issue, it does good at first but then it starts the rough running again. I don't know if were looking at maybe there is some trash or something in the injectors that maybe I could pull each one and clean and flush the rails or maybe a spark plug issues? I don't know if its how I explained the problem or what?

Misfire, start by changing plugs, and plug wires rotor and cap if they haven't already been changed.

+1.
You're on a roll this morning.

Also make sure you route the plug wires per the TSB found somewhere in this forum...

This is typical of a misfiring cyld.

Wait don't buy parts just yet, do a comp test first see what shape the motor is in before you go spending cash on parts. Post back your numbers and then go from there. Do route the wires as per the tsb.

Thanks OP, good post as I just got me a 01 with a 5.2 engine and it does the same! Look forward to seeing your test results.

This happens when in OD I bet. When you "floor it" , it is most likely down shifting too correct? ( so you think you have power) Hate to sound like a broken record, but, you are losing power and need to read the plenum sticky.

Turned out to be the plugs. Did the cheap route first and replaced them and its all smooth again. I couldn't see any plug that stuck out the bad one. they were champion plugs. I just wasn't sure if it was fuel or spark? I did the head gaskets last year so I know the motor is ok. Went through the heads and had them done. Thanks guys Everything gasket wise was changed lol

I have never had any luck with champion plugs in a dodge. The last time I put them in my v6 they fouled in less than 2000 miles. Took them back to o reilys and bought the Bosch Platinum plugs and I have not had a problem since.
