Well, let my daughter borrow "Nelly" and she returned with a broken driver side rear shackle! I've gotten the nut off the lower bolt but now it hits the tow hitch frame and won't come out !!&@@"&&&...any suggestions besides the obvious? I.E. ... Cut the bolt! Any would be appreciated!...also,any advice on good place for new shackles?

 

What model year Ram do you have? 4x4 or 4x2? What engine? What trim level? Etc. etc.

All of that and whatever else you can tell us will help.

If it is a 2nd Gen Ram (1994-2001), you will have to take down the spare tire, if its still there, and the tow hitch. Its held on by six bolts, if memory serves. Once thats down, you can get the bolts in easily. After my episode with that on the Ram I used to have, I flipped the bolt so it would go the other way and used lots of anti-seize.
