Default Help burping truck - no heat

So little while ago I bypassed the heater core to have AC, well this bipolar weather has forced me to hook up the heater again

For some stupid reason this morning I removed the radiator cap before I hooked the heater core back up.

Went down the road, temp gauge was going crazy and what little heat I had went bye bye. Stopped, opened the hood, saw the radiator cap on the fan shroud, SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

Put it on, still had no heat, temp gauge completely crazy my whole trip...

Get it back home, proceed to burp the system. Found the DIY thread, have the passenger side up on a wheel ramp, radiator cap off, overflow tank full, been running for over 20 minutes, 2 major refills of coolant, and still not even the slightest hint of heat.

Truck is still going, still trying to burp.

Any other words of wisdom? I thought maybe there was a blockage in the heater core, but if I'm refilling with as much coolant as I have so far I can't see too much of a blockage.

Update: Just went out and checked, had to add a little water, not much. Still no heat. It's so cold in the truck I'm surprised it's not snowing....

Well after 30 some minutes of getting no where I pulled the line going into the heater core, got out the air compressor, and blew it out. Reconnected the line, filled radiator up and I'm back to roasting in the Dodge

Guess you can add blowing out the heater core to the list of ways to burp the system...

While you had it bypassed, a mouse might have started a nest. Dont no. Either way, glad it working now.
