A/C problems
My AC cools for a while and then blows warm air. I have checked the freon level which is at the normal range. I think the compressor kicks off when it shouldn't, therefore letting it blow the warm air. Is there a relay or switch that could be faulty? Again, the freon (R134A) level is ok. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated.
IM NO WIZ BY ANY MEANS BUT WHEN YOUR AC GETS HOT IS THE COMPRESSOR ENGAGED?
IS THE CLUTCH ON? IF NOT THEN CHECK THE CLUTCH SWITCH ON TOP OF THE ACCUMILATOR.
TRY JUMPING THE SWITCH IF IT DOESNT START UP IT SHOULD BE THE SWITCH. IF IT STARTS
UP IS THE TRUCKS VOLTAGE DROPPING WHEN ON IDLE?

I have done the jump with a wire and kept the compressor engaged continously. At least while it is in the driveway, I haven't driven around with the jump wire in place. The compressor engages and cools for about 20 minutes after first driving, then it seems to stop cooling. I can turn off the a/c for 10- 15 minutes or so and then it will begin to cool again. Would this be a problem with the accumulator?
Let your a/c run until it quits, then unplug the two pin connector beside the compressor and see if you have a 12V power and a ground. If you do then you need a new compressor clutch. This is a common problem when the clutch gets a little age on it and the clutch coil gets weak.
I would try filling it anyway. I had the same problem where the guage showed normal levels of freon yet the compressor was shutting on and off every 10-15 seconds. I chased my tail for days trying to figure out what was wrong and finally decided just to try filling the system again. I filled the system again and everything is working perfectly. note: just make sure you dont overfill your system.
