Smile Air Bags

I'm considering installing a set of air bags (helpers) on my 2000 Sport. I haul a pan trailer and along with a set of 10plys, the air bags should help stabilize up the rear end. Any suggestions on a manufacturer?
Also, is an onboard compressor worth the investment or should I just go with the traditional air valve?
Thanks in advance for any input!

]I guess I just wanted a little more control.
One of the guys I work with has Timbrens and his truck still sags when loaded.
Thanks!

I had the Firestone air bags in the back of my truck, I liked them and they work great. I would indeed install the on board air comp it would make life ezer. I removed them last summer as I don't tow as much as I used to, they are sitting out in the barn collecting dust.

I 've looked at the Firestones. I'll probably go that way.

I also have a set of 3/4 ton coils for the front so air bags will help level things up when I get them installed.

Using the bags for lift is not what they were designed for, I never used them for lift when M/T no trailer. With 25 psi in the bags you will gain about 1/4-1/2". M/T box/not towing I would have 25psi in the bags, then up from there as per load weight. Run to much psi in a M/T truck will make it ride a bit harsh.

I run Firestone bags and compressor in my truck with the gauge and controller in the truck to adjust on-the-fly. I like them a lot. I also have a coupler on the air tank so I can run an air hose to fill tires and such.

Don't you need to cut out a portion of the wheel well liner to fit air bags on 2nd gens?

^^^ I did just that then installed the liners and found out there was no real reason for doing it, there was more than enough clearance between the bags and liner. Wasted a good set of liners for no reason at all.
