Default Front End axle Seal seepage

Good day everyone.

I have a small leak from the front left axle seal. I want to make sure that is what it is and how to repair it. also is the diff caseing and connected to the rest of the axle by the same oil and whatnot? its green. right now it only has a small drip. but its dripping on my tire a little. and is the ball joint easy to replace since you have to take off the entire wheel assembly to get the axle seal?

one more thing. i have some seepage from the transfer case. the forward and rear seal. how would one go about replacing that?

Thank you for your time Y'all
HC

Green is coolant. I have never seen any gear lube that was green...... Might wanna take a closer look, and see where it is really coming from.

Your front axle has seals right on the edge of the front diff. There is no axle seal at the end of the axle. Like HeyYou said there isn't any green axle lube that either he or I know of.

Take some on your finger and smell it. Also feel it and see what it is like. Gear oil is heavy and the smell is different. If it is coolant it too has a feel and smell. So check it out and get back to us.

Just to add to Wildmans point, gear oil is some of the worst smelling crap you'll ever smell. Coolant is kinda slippery feeling, sorta sweet smell...
