I have a 98 ram 1500. As of now it has a 5.2L and it blew up so I have to replace it. I'd like to replace it with a 5.9L and have no clue if I will have to replace the transmission or anything else. If anyone knows if its possible to swap for the bigger motor without replacing the transmission please let me know!

Need a 5.9 torque converter in the transmission and the 5.9 flexplate on the engine. Other than that, you can use your transmission
