My tps is original as is the my IAC.. I did get another 5.9's TPS in a JY and stuck that in mine but it obviously hasnt helped. I hoped i saved my old one maybe ill try putting that one back in and see.. Anyway i took my IAC out.. it isnt really that dirty honestly because it has been cleaned before.. But ill clean it again and i checked the throttle body it isnt dirty either since i did just fix my plenum and took the throttle body off and cleaned it breifly..

Guess I might just need a new IAC..

BTW what do you guys think about air filters ?

Im thinking of cleaning my spectre filter as it looks pretty dirty even tho its only been like 7-8k miles since i last cleaned it.. not sure why its so full of sand and stuff so soon..

But anyway.... I looked in my throttlebody and i noticed the bottom of the pan directly below has dirt particles and small debris laying on it.. Im not sure if its from the PCV blowby or from the spectre filter letting stuff go past the filter.. I like the way the spectre filter and my k&n fipk sound.. But i realize its just sound honestly.. Because i think i remember when i put it on it also lowerd my gas mileage slightly, i have read that happening to other people and no i never changed my driving habbits.

So im thinking maybe i should go back to my stock box ? It just kinda sickens me to see that small little thin pancake tube on my engine lol (The Jeep have like super thin airhats on the engines like 1 inch tall.. Do they sell paper cone filters i can use instead of my spectre oiled filter ? Or do the paper filters stop working right if they get wet.. because the way i have my setup right now my filter does get a tad wet because its basicly sitting in the open not coverd and getting air directly from the front grill..

What do you guys think ? I wish i took better care of my old box.. I cant find some of the clips to it or one of those rubber gromments lol.. Looks like its JY time..

If your Spectre is dusty already, clean it. No harm in doing so. It may be part of the reason your MPG has dropped.

No I haven't I dunno if I want too either, specially with my tank full right now and me getting 12-13mpg..

I guess Ill reset the overhead and hook it back up and see what happens. I also decided to just put the stock air box and paper filter back on.. Not sure how long ill leave it on tho I did notice a slight loss in power going up hills with that pancake airhat on.. but mabe im experiencing the placebo effect if you know what I mean..

Anyway, cleaned the IAC a couple days ago and the idle hasn't been going to 1500rpm anymore when I put it in park.. well see as the days and weeks come.. But like I said it was doing it everyday but now it stopped.. its weird because it really wast that dirty... Ill hook the catch can back up and let you guys know what the mileage is when I drive it enough.. if it drops down again or not

Heheh, right now with the summer heat and said blend of fuel, I got almost 14 in my gasser at last fuel-up. Surprised the hell out of me, as I was used to getting crap mileage lol (a little work goes a long way I suppose )

12-13 is actually near what it got when I first bought it 3 years ago I was getting around 13.5 prior.. it just slowely went down and down and down.. Its still a little lower then it used to be... I'm gonna save up my money and bring it to a shop and have them check my cat out.. see if its putting any backpressure and showing signs of needing replaced or not.. I don't like spending money on things that don't need replaced on just a hunch even if it is the original cat.. 15 years old and was going through all that oil burning my engine was doing..

If you don't have emissions you could always just gut your cat to buy yourself some time before you replace it. And you'll wanna replace it cuz it sounds like azz... lol

So I got my infared thermometer out and drove the Jeep around for like 25 minutes, and checked my cat in the front as the pipe enters and it was 220f, and I checked the cat as the pipe comes out and it was 550f. The pipe as it goes into the muffler was 440f..

So does this sound good ? Meaning my cat isn't clogged.
