Default U Joint Help Please!

So I am replacing my u joints on my rear drive shaft along with my rear tc seal. Got the new seal in, and all the u joints out. Put the 2 ends back into the slip yoke just fine. Trying to put the other 2 in the front of the rear driveshaft and the caps are too big. I compared the old u joint and seen that the slip yoke ones were inner clip and big diameter cap(Same as new) and the other 2 that go in the driveshaft were outer snap ring and smaller cap..The new u joint's caps are all the same size and came with 4 inner snap rigs. What am I supposed to do?

"If" I remember right there are four different styles of cross-joints for the rear DS, just need to go back to the parts store and get the right one. Not much else you can do.

They never do, they just pick the most common one and give it to you. Yep take it all apart again. You did mark the slip yoke and the DS so you know how they go back together again right.

Edit: Tell the parts person just what you posted, two external clips, two internal clips, diff cap sizes.

ok,took them back and got the correct ones. Got it all put together but now there is a scraping noise. It happens any time the wheel is turning, idle coasting or throttle. Sounds almost like something scraping the brakes but nothing was touched besides the rear ds and u joints. Any ideas? Thanks

It happens any time what wheel is turning? Make sure the gas tank heat shield is not rubbing on the DS. May have come loose while you did the work. Or maybe even the cat heat shield.

Thats a negative on the shields. Nothing is close to the ds. I did see that it looks like grease got thrown all over. I greased until I started to see some coming through the caps so I assume its whatever came out that is on the rear axle and gas tank. Any more suggestions?

Well you didn't answer the question about when the wheel is turning? What wheel? The steering wheel?
