Default PCV Catch Can, Will this work?

I found this at my local Lowes. I was wondering what you guys though about making a catch can for the PCV line out of this.

should. i think you will just need to glue the valve at the bottom closed or it will cause a vacuum leak.

Thanks. I will be installing tomorrow. I just don't understand how to get the little filter out of it. I will look more into it.

i would just leave the filter there. its job is to separate oil/water from air.

i think a real catch can would cost you more than $20

Cnewt, Thats the same one I use on my 98 Neon. It works good, just make sure the little valve on the bottom is sealed good.

Get the big blue Kobalt that is 3/8th's. I use that one and so far it's working great.

Just curious - is there that much oil to be salvaged from the PCV line if the PCV valve is working as it should and the baffle is in the valve cover properly where the PCV valve attaches?

I've seen some nasty stuff come out of various Rams, so apparently yeah.

you also have to remember that the pcv will eventually fail and when it does the filter will do its job and keep your engine from burning any more oil than it needs to.
