Default Fuel pump project questions.

Well is come to that time to replace teh fuel pump sensor. Darn gas guage just dropped below E on a full tank.

While I am having the tank dropped, I would like to UPGRADE the fuel pump and sensor so that I don't have to replace it as much if ever at all.

Can anyone suggest a brand, make and model of what I need to replace and would be a good idea to UPGRADE while getting all this done?

My goal is to upgrade to better and longer lasting parts as I repair.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9L.

Thanks.

Not much of any upgrades available.... go with a denso (OEM) or delphi unit. Either should outlast the rest of the truck.

Are these the sending units or the Fuel Pump? Whats your opinion about Walbro fuel pumps?

the fuel pumps for our trucks are sold as "fuel pump assemblies" which includes the sending unit, strainer, and the pump itself. The sending unit by itself may be available somewhere, but I havent seen them much

I bought a walbro pump for my firebird, as it was considered an 'improvement'. It lasted less than a year. I won't buy another one.
