99 Transmission problems

I did that and it was not burnt. I was surprised myself how lucky I was in this case. Its even shifting better than before. I changed the part maybe two years ago thinking it was something else. cant believe it broke like it did.

Are you talking about the VSS on the driver side of the tranny??

Its called the speed control sensor. it determines when to shift. It is located towards the rear on the driver side of tranny.

My truck does the same thing . Like when I am in 4x4 an i spin in grass it shifts into neutral an then when u let off the gas an hit it again it is still in neutral but then the second time I hit the gas it kicks into gear. Would it be best just to do a 5 spd swap. Because I've already rebuilt the tranny 5 times now an it only has 179541 miles on ot

Well it only does it when it's in 4x4 .in 2 wheel drive it does just fine except for pulling.
