Never seems to end. Now I used my fob to unlock the drives door (or lock) and i get the whine noise from the motor but the door doesn't lock or unlock. I searched threads but didn't come up with results. Any suggestions??

Its a 97 2500.

 

**Pull the door panel and have a look. If you can hear the motor whining and nothing happening, then it sounds like something in the linkage has become disconnected.

i had this issue with my driver side window. little switch wasnt fully engaged in the bracket so the switch wouldnt click. get some gorilla tape and squeeze the bracket and the switch together and tape it so it stay tight, but be generous because you have to be able to push it back into the door panel brackets. hope this helps.

 

My passenger door lock actuator went out about 18 months ago... and the driver side just started to act up last week.

The sound is like stripped gears.

One of these days I'll pull the passenger side and check it out as a candidate to replace the motor (per the thread around here somewhere).
