Default 46re shift problems

I'm new to the whole forum thing but i cant seem to find what the problem is with my transmission.

I have a 99' dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9l with about 142,000 miles on it. Don't know if the tranny has been rebuilt or not but there is a date written on the side of the case.

It doesn't want to shift into first gear, starts out in second. RPM's run up to 3500 before shifting into third. Rarely shifts into overdrive and slams into reverse. I've already bought and installed a master solenoid kit from cascade transmission, replacing all the solenoids in the transmission. I don't know what to do aside from putting in a whole new transmission, which i don't have the money for. Any help is much appreciated.

thanks for the thread, reading through it i've done all of that even adjusted the bands to spec. i'm just not sure what the problem is. it starts out in second gear and doesnt seem to want to shift into any other gear including reverse. my mechanic buddy said its possible the pump may be on its way out. is there something else i'm missing?

did you get this fixed?
I am poping the P1762 code and what little reading I have done says it is the downstream O2 sensor. Try unplugging it and going from there.

The wiring for down stream 02 and governor pressure sensor voltage are on the same circuit and either can pop the p1762 code. If you had shorted wires on the 02, you would get a p1762 , would that still put transmission into limp mode? I don't know.

Try this, Put the transmission in low gear and start out from a stop. Then upshift the lever to 2nd and then to 3rd. Have the O/D light on, does the transmission shift from 1st to 2nd and then to 3rd? If the transmission shifts, then you need to replace the transducer and governor as a pair. And use mopar parts. If the transmission deosn't shift into 3rd gear, get a transmission seal kit. The seals are hard and are not sealing. In other words the fluid is leaking pass the seals.
