Default will 01 Y-pipe fit 99

i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 5.9. i also have a 01 for parts. would the y pipe fit on my 99. On my 99 i gutted the cat and i want to eliminate the cat and the 01 y pipe would be easier to work on.

Should bolt to the manifolds just fine, pipe size on the other end may be different though... nothing an adapter wouldn't solve though.

That's like asking what kind of tires are best. What someone else thinks sounds good may or may not be what you think sounds good. Also, what is your budget, etc. Do yourself a favor and do what Brian suggested. Search for videos on you tube or use the search function on here. There are tons of muffler threads. You will get so many answers on muffler preference that it will only confuse you more.

Click on "User CP", on the left side, under "settings and options" click on "edit signature".

putting that 01 y pipe on is going to kill your trucks performance. the 99 y pipe is freer flowing. the 01 y pipe is very very constricting.

good luck though!

Other way around. Where the two pipes hit the cat, they squeeze down way to much. Someone posted pics a while back.
