welcome to df.

don't cut up the wiring of your truck on a large scale unless there's something terribly wrong with it.

do be aware that the voltage regulator is contained in the PCM, so if its bad, you have to either replace the PCM or rig up an external voltage regulator, which some have done and its not expensive.

either do the external regulator, or get a PCM from the junkyard. match your year, auto/manual, diesel/gas, engine size exactly.

im with dhvaughan i would look around and find a pcm at a junkyard. shouldnt be to hard. rams are a dime a dozen. so you should have a pretty good chance at finding one to match.

I did get PCM with the wirering Harness cut about 2 ft from the plug ( 29 wirer Plug ) had to send it back because my 95 dodge ram 5.9 l gas 1500 4x4 takes a 50 wirer plug so they did send me another one from eBay From R&R Savage back east ! I have a bad Plug also that's why I was wondering if anyone has splice into the exciting 50 wirer, wirering harness with susses ! catballou5477

Solder and shrink tubing. Do not just use butt connectors.

bad how? as in burned up, cracked/broken, melted, chewed by rats?

if yours is bad to the point that it won't run, then ok, i'd consider cutting ALL the wires and putting a new plug on, but only if the donor harness matches exactly with counts, colors, etc.

the other option is to see if that entire section of the wiring harness could be replaced more easily. 95's should be available in the junkyard.

Wow bro, big ugly there. I finally found your thread. Unless it was a major issue, I would not cut into any factory wires. This is what I would have installed instead:

http://store.alternatorparts.com/hd-...ement-kit.aspx

The typical issue of the "Check Engine Light" being on all the time will be cured with the little yellow resistor in this kit so, you do not have that problem any more. This is for sure the way to go. I left my phone number on your account because you forgot to leave me an area code.

Here is the Plenum thread (#5 plug is fouling after replacement of plugs and wires) the thread has problems listed and #5 plug is not one:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Give me your codes off the "Check Engine Light" and I will give you what my book says.

Disclaimer: I am new to this site. I post everything here so everyone knows what you have going.

Note: He says he needs to replace his ECM plug because of previous rework to it.

The FAQ/DIY section has a sticky on the first page for all the codes. And a trick for how to check them without a scanner ,as long as you don't have a 98.

Personally, I would fix the issue with the #5 plug first. Remove battery and alternator, take them to an auto parts store and have them checked for proper functionality. Once you know you have a good battery and the alternator is working properly, then Clean your grounds good. There is a few grounds for the engine, alternator and battery. Get them all. Then start replacing parts. With computers, voltage plays hell on signals getting crossed.

Don't waist your money, only replace what needs to be replaced.
He has a:

"code" 37: In my book it says, Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid CKT - An open or shorted condition detected in the CKT circuit.

Cure:

OR:

Trans Temp Sensor Voltage too low:

Trans Temp Sensor Voltage too High:

Here is some Google links, I will search for the right one when I know for sure what you have:
