Default 2001 Dodge ram1500 4dr quad cab 5.2L acts like it is trying to run out of gas

It has a cold start I have to crank it a couple of times, and gentially hold the gas down and then it acts right. Going down the road it acts like it is trying to run out of gas, and I step on the gas a little more and it straigtens up. I also hear a sound like air is being blown or pushed out around the air filter when the gas is pressed. I got a p1391 code and I do not know what it means. Plus the engine light is on all the time. Sometimes when it is acting up going down the road, it has a rough thrust like it is fixing to run out of gas. If anyone knows what could cause these problems please let me know.

Thanks

Heather

p1391 seems to be the crankshaft position sensor.

Believe that booger hides out in the distributor cap, wouldn't hurt to check for loose connections.

Part could be going bad too...

Crank sensor hangs out behind the passenger side head, down on the bellhousing. Cam sensor is in the dist.
