No Power at PCM???

Gonna have to address the voltage regulator just to make the truck driveable.
I *think* you can piggyback the external regulator, and PCM, so you don't get codes for it, and the gauge should actually work..... Maybe.
Tach gets it's signal from the PCM, which in turn, gets it from the crank sensor. All that hooked up? If the PCM doesn't see a crank sensor signal, lots of things stop working.....

Instrument Cluster Engineering
Okay, it's on the 1996 Dodge Ram 5.9L truck I've been converting to carb. All I have hooked up sensor wise for the engine are the oil pressure, gauge coolant temp sensor, and crankshaft position sensor. the PCM just refuses to run my gauges now. I'm stumped, I entirely disassembled my factory instrument cluster now. Here's my question: Does ANYBODY have a clue what sort of signal the tach gets from the PCM? Even if it is a technical article I don't care! It looks like I'm gonna have to make myself a custom cluster. One guy I talked to came up with this conclusion: Since the tach is driven by the CKPS, the tach has 3 electrical connections. I am wondering if maybe they can be hooked up to the tach to run it? He mentioned something about the tach feed being something like 5v or less.
Or a universal instrument cluster that doesn't cost $800!
