Default Trany swap auto to a manual in 01 2500 cummins

Does anyone know what all I would need to do to make this happen besides Trany cutting the hole that kind of stuff. Like reseting the computer how to do that or any other problems I migh face??

Might be able to simply reprogram the computer for a manual trans truck.

2 or 4wd?

best bet would be to find a donor truck in the yard, so you can source all of your parts. Keep in mind, the gas transmissions are different than the oil burners. Larger shafts and such. They are not mix and match.

2wd should be easier. Good luck finding a NV5600 if you want the six speed

Fair few gassers have done the swap, but, they are far more common than the oil burner....

There are a couple threads right here in the tech section. Search should turn them up.
