Default Will a Transmission swap?

I currently own a 1995 Dodge Ram 15000 Reg Cab, Long box. With 194XXXXKM, Has the 318 Magnum, I am looking at upgrading a bit to a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext Cab, Short Box, 4X4. What are the chances that the trans from my current 1995 will swap? What is involved?

The 1999 needs a trans as the owner says he lost O/D, Then the rest one by one until it now has only reverse. Body is in better shape then my current 1995, And it has around 130XXXXKM

I know it's not a direct swap as the OD on your 95 is hydraulically controlled and the 99 is electronically controlled. The 95 also appears to be 2WD, and has a different tail shaft housing as the 99, being 4x4 has to have the transfer case mounted to it. So, you might be able to, but it's not worth it.

Unless you can't find another truck that's in good shape, I'd pass on it. But, I have loads of trucks around here. lol

The '95 should have a 46RH, which is hydraulic, don't think you can make it work in a '99 which has the 46RE, electronic...

I would look around for the right transmission if it is a great deal on the truck?

O/D is electronically controlled on both transmissions. (but, they still aren't a direct swap, as per previous posters.) Might be as simple as changing a solenoid or two to fix O/D. If it's a good deal on the truck, (taking in to consideration you might need a 1500 dollar trans rebuild.....) go for it.
