Heads cost between 400 and 2000, of which i cant afford, so considering how they may be in practically new shape after milling I'll go cheapskate this time around as much as possible until I can afford some aluminum mopar magnums for the 2 grand in the future.

If I had the cash though, I would order some rt heads, an rt cam, a single plane mopar intake manifold, a 4 barrel mopar throttle body, and a ram air shaker hood setup; it would be a monster, just have to wait until the time when I have at least 5 grand laying around.

I got the heads back from the machine shop last night. The heads have been milled 0.006 inches to eliminate the warpage that, according to the machinist, had occurred in the center regions of the heads, the heads have been pressure tested to check the valves for any leakage of which there are none, and the heads have been magnafluxed to expose cracks of which do not exist. My new cam and lifters should be arriving any day now and will be installed as soon as possible. So far, I've got about a grand wrapped up in my fresh heads, plenum gasket as well as all other gaskets, timing gears and chain, fuel injectors, spark plugs and wires, exhaust system, cam and lifters. Hopefully my issues will have been eliminated once and for all and this motor will spin like a top. At this point, I've got my fingers crossed for only time will tell...

Here are some teaser pics...

it's nekkid. Engine ****. That's probably illegal in some countries.......

Looking forward to hearing how it runs when you get it all back together. Rather surprised you only had minor issues with the heads. Did you get a valve job in there as well?

According to the machine shop, my valves were sealing the heads very well.

Had they failed the leakdown test, then I would have had the valves machined.

In other words, Naahhh...

The stock heads crack when the plenum and o2 fails and the cat clogs. Most people drive it till it wont run, too late late by that time. You caught it early.

While you have the heads off, it would be an excellent time to change the rings.

I got crazy high compression thanks to my religious servicing of this truck.

Nothing but synthetics, nothing but the best filters, nothing but the best...

Rings; Really???
