Default ABS motor not pumping

Hello,

I have a 99 Ram 1500 4x4 4 wheel ABS. I recently changed the front wheel bearings and u-joints.

When I would turn the key on I hear a buzzzzzz, THUMP, which is the ABS motor pumping. Now I no longer hear the buzz, thump and the ABS and brake light will come on. Had a friend pull the code and it listed an ABS relay??? I could not find an ABS relay in the relay/fuse box under the hood?

ANY suggestions?

THANKS

I can understand your confusion.... Looking at the wiring diagrams (albeit, from the 2001 service manual....) there isn't a relay. Power is provided to the ABS controller via fuse 3, (switched ignition) and fuse 11 (fused battery). There isn't a relay in any of the diagrams......

Check that the front wheel speed sensors are plugged in good, as that is the last thing touched, and clear the code, see what happens.

THANKS for reply. Cleared the codes and heard the buzz/thump as soon as the codes were cleared. Drove around for a while and everything seemed to work OK.

Let it sit over night, hopped in and turned key. No buzz/thump. Drove for few minutes ABS and BRAKE light came on. Turned truck off/on a few times, no buzz/thump, and ABS and BRAKE light on. Opened hood and checked connectors to front sensors and OK. Tapped on ABS motor with screwdriver handle and then got the buzz/thump and no lights.

Thinking my ABS motor may be going bad?????

THANKS
