And do what with it? Rebuild it? Or just stuff it in? Cheapest would be just stuff it in, provided it lasts a while..... but, with a used trans..... might last five minutes, might last five years. Or anything in between. It's a gamble. If you have around a grand, rebuild yours, upgrade some parts, and never have to worry about it again.

On page six of montes trans thread, is a list of parts for a member that regularly hauled a 7k pound trailer. Go from that list. Keep in mind, there are multiple numbers for the same part. (they vary by year)

In the service manual, is a nice blow up pic of the trans. Figger out which parts you are going to want to replace from that. (most certainly that planetary, and anything it touches....)

Wittrans.com will have everything you need, and that's where montes part numbers come from.

Yup it looks like it Grenaded on ya, my opinion would be to invest in a good remanufactured tranny.
Junk yard tranny is just gona grenade eventually.
I dunno you mechanical skill lvl, but re building a tranny isn't as easy as grilling a steak.
and there's nothing worse than putting the tranny back in it's hole only to find out it still won't move. (after I pulled mine out the 3rd time I melted it into aluminium ingots out of spite!)
just my two cents.

Really common for that aluminum front planet to grenade like that... A steel five gear out of a later 47RE and you'll never have to worry about that again. I'm not a huge fan of Wittrans, you can get the same parts at a more reasonable rate from Transtar even as Joe Blow off the street.

There are also diy rebuild threads in the FAQ/DIY section and other related threads and info on the transmission topic.
