Default 96 ram 2500 5.9v8 to v10

Hello, Im new to the site. I have built one ram and Im on a secound. The truck Im dealing with now is a 96 2500 4x4 with the 5.9 v8. I just picked up a 99 v10 engine, 47re, np241 ecu and wire harness. Trans is being built up to withstand the v10 with a t70 turbo. Mechanical it should be an easy drop in but the ecu and harness are not the same so it is not going to be plug and play. I have no problem looking at the wiring diagrams and figuring out what wire needs to be sliced to wich wire. My question is will the ecu work with the 96 guage cluster and the the rest of the trucks wiring or do I need to find a 96 ecu and harness for plug and play. Has anyone done this swap or know if it is possiable todo as far as using the 99 ecu and harness. Thank You. This site has alot of good info.

Too much changed in 98 for it to be an easy swap. PCM, wiring harness, and such from a 96 or 97 truck is going to be the easiest way. Other alternative is swap in the dash and such from a newer truck.

Yeah, I talked to hotwire today. They told me what had to be done. im looking up wire diagrams now to see if the harness pins are the same for a 96 v8 and v10. I might get lucky and it be plug and play.

V10 is going to have two additional injectors, it is also DIS, whereas the V-8 is not. Harnesses will not interchange. I don't think the PCM's will either.
