Default 2001 blower motor resistor

I replaced the blower motor resistor on my truck three days ago and it webt out again. I started smelling a weird odor and then it stopped working. Again it will only work on high. Any thoughts?

Check the wiring between the resistor block, and the switch. (switch provides ground path). Bad ground will increase resistance, and heat it (resistor block) up even more than it normally does. Tends to melt them.

I'm thinking bad blower motor. Easy enough to remove and check. Maybe lots of garbage in there too. And check wiring as stated by HeyYou before spending money.
