2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Infinity Sound System
I just had one of my factory speakers blow out in my 2001 dodge ram 2500. I have the infinity sound system in it. I am going to replace the two front speakers with some Jl audio c2 6x9's. I have already replaced the deck with a Alpine a while ago. I was wondering would it be better to run wire from the alpine deck straight to the new speakers or would it be the same to splice into the original harness for the factory speakers for the new speakers. I guess I am asking what way would sound better or would they sound the same. If someone could help that would be great. Also if you know what wire to splice into on the harness that would be great also thanks, Lance

I personally would just use the factory wire that is already there and ran.

i just replaced my blown infinity's with a pair of kenwood KFC-6993PS 6x9's (new) and a KAC-1502s amp ($40 @the pawnshop) And bypassed the factory harness completely.
Ran all brand new wire and an RCA cable to the amp.
I'm happy with it.
I did have to make a 1/4" thick spacer ring though, because the kenwoods were deeper in the stock opening and the magnet was rubbing on the window track.
