Powertrain Control Module. Under the hood, passenger side, bolted to the firewall. LOTS of wires going to it. Hard to miss.

Being a Cummins the only thing the computer controls is the grid heaters. So they will run without the PCM they just lose everything described. That being said, without signal from the crank sensor the PCM does not know it needs to start working to do all those things. I will put money on crank sensor or even improper air gap. It is on the front of the engine reading off two notches on the damper. Like I said, check that it has .020" gap. If it does then I would suspect a faulty sensor.

Crank sensor is hard to test if motor does not run. Get a Standard Motor Products brand from rock auto and use the discount code in the general discussion section. I highly doubt it will be the $114 rip off from NAPA.

Cummins 12 valve engines don't need anything computer related to run. The crank sensor is also very expensive... That being said, the only things you can do is check connections on the front of the head, check the air gap, and check for the reference voltage (can't remember if it's 5, 8, or 12 volt). If those are all good then it's bad.
