missing and fuel smell
I have a 94 with 3.9 l magnum, got in truck yesterday running fine then all of a sudden started missing, and smell gas. idels rough ,runs like missing 2 cylinders and like i said gas smell . no problem with plenium, also cat.converter was removed 6 months ago. cel on code of 32 which has been there, parts replaced and code will not clear, also code of 16 which according to my manual does not exist.Going to check plugs for firing in next few days, dont drive this much anymore but do sometimes.Any Ideas? Thanks.
STOP DRIVING IT....
first check that you have a gas cap, and that its on tight.
with no pilot light, smoking, heater, furnace, welding, torching, or anyone flipping light switches or otherwise creating sparks. turn the ignition to on, not start, count to 3, and then turn it off and leave it off. this pressurizes the fuel lines.
get a good light and carefully examine the fuel line all the way from the tank, along the underside, up the firewall, connector on drivers side, fuel rail on both side and the cross over in the back, and finally the injectors. follow your nose, feel the lines, feel the injectors. the most likely leak is the o-rings at the injectors.
don't drive it any more until you find and fix the leak or else something very bad will happen.

Ok checked it all out, only thing I can find is some seepage around where the exhaust connects up to motor, felt of it and smells like gas cranked up for a moment and smoke coming out tailpipe and it smells like gas.
no its more white/blue smoke.and not much of that, truck does not use any oil,no water in oil or oil in water either. when i drove it the other day I drove 45 min-1hr. cut it off got back in after 3-4 min. and acted like out of gas, waited 2-3 min. it cranked right up and was fine. after couple min. thats when started missing and all.
a heavy gas smell in the exhaust is often accompanied by black smoke, very rich fuel mix, bad front O2 sensor, and terrible MPG.
another cause of gas smell is a misfire, where you're not burning the gas, but just pumping it through the engine. when this happens, it runs like crap.
there shouldn't be ANY gasoline seepage anywhere on the motor. Oil seepage at the exhaust manifolds is common, and it comes from the valve cover gaskets. try to retorque the valve cover bolts, as they often work loose, down to less than finger tight. don't break them, as torque spec is probably something like 20-25 pounds. you can clean the seepage with brake cleaner and paper towels.. if that doesn't stop the oil leak, replace the valve cover gaskets with the good rubber coated felpro, not the cheapo cork.
