By open it up I hope they mean the VB... Like I said, the clutches and bands can only do what they're told by the VB. Late shifts without slipping are always either improper governor pressures or sticky valves.

yes they are gonna go into valve body. The guy that is doing it has been in buisness for years and is very well thought of. He builds tranys for racers and the mudders and pullers. Anyways he already had a list like you guys gave me. Said he would build it right for 1600.00. So I take it to him next Tues. Thanks for all your guys help.

It's good that you found one of the few honest transmission shops left. I couldn't stand the BS reasons other shops I worked for would give customers to rebuild a perfectly good transmission that simply had VB or solenoid issues... One of the many reasons I started my own shop.

Got the truck back,it shifts better than I ever remember. I went ahead and done all the upgrades while he was in there. Using your guys list and some of his suggestions. Red eagle cluthes, steel bands and drum upgrade, pump kit a good aftermarket TQ 1400 stall. Sonnex sure cure. Some factory plastic piece, piston something he replaced with aluminum, Steel bushings . I havent really had time to sit down and go over his complete build list. He said she should be ready to go and should outlast the body. LOL So we will see. Thanks for the suggestions, Steve
