Default Front end/steering/suspension rebuild-upgrade

My steering is pretty sloppy and loose, it pulls to the right, and my front tires are wearing prematurely on the inside of the tire. I'd like to fix these issues and if I'm going to fix all these problems at once I figure I should just rebuild everything under there since it has 180,000miles on her. My way of thinking is if you break it, upgrade it. So what I'm asking is what all do I need to replace and what are the best parts/brand of parts that I should be using to make it last a long time and improve my performance? All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated

Wonder if the 08.5 crossover steering parts would fit on your truck..... that would be a rather major improvement...

Fair bit of your slop is probably in the steering box.... just getting a stock replacement won't help, need a BETTER box. Borgeson, or Redhead for that.

Rock solid ram steering fix as well. (bushing that goes in the lower part of the steering column.)

look into this http://rocksolidramtrucksteering.com/ to get rid of the slop.

and if you going to rebuild it, i would go with the HD parts.

I was also wondering about the front suspension too. Like tie rods and tie rod ends. what brands are better than others? What should be beefed up besides the steering box? I don't think I want to swap in an entire new steering setup with from the newer trucks though...

I rebuilt the front suspension on my truck not long ago. I used McQuay/Norris ball joints and tie rod ends. I also replaced the steering box and intermediate shaft with Borgeson units. Shocks were replaced with Rancho 5000 units. Replaced the stock track bar with an adjustable unit and bracket from Solid Steel (http://www.solidsteel.biz/tbk.htm). Replaced the upper and lower control arms with Spohn units that have poly bushings. Also added a steering stabilizer from these folks - http://www.custom-diesel.com/dodge-p...-borgeson.html - sway bar links and sway bar mounts bushings were replaced with poly - replaced front hub bearings, too. Once all the front end work was completed, picked up a set of Michelin load range E tires. Truck almost handles like a car now... Certainly cured the periodic death wobble I experienced on a few occasions...
