03 or newer, yep.
More tunable in that you can slap on a programmer and get instant power.

Powerstroke?

I'm only here for the Powerplants. Dodge trucks are piles.

I had bags on the 02 and hadn't installed them on the 08 yet.

That Ford would have been Found On Road Dead and then I would have had to call someone with a Dodge to come haul the broke truck & trailer.

Great looking setups Wild. It's been on my plans since finding those setups a year ago or so. Lots of different ways to go about them.

Anything you'd do differently? And I mean with respect to the trailer as there is no need to talk about the tow rig.

There's been some super cool ones for sale on Pirate.

Btw -- am I to understand you are a vet? Sorry if I missed that. Going by your Hat...

I'm a die hard Mopar guy, but I like me some Ford trucks. My 98 Dodge was not in great shape at 160k, the paint and seats were hashed. Ran good though. But this Ford at 275k still has awesome paint and the seat wasn't even ripped through and has some padding still. The truck even still has 5 original injectors. And with a good converter, I would say the E4OD is a little more durable in my experience.

Rick, BTW, you going to make it to the Hammers? I'll be with car 689, and probably helping Crawl/Yukon where I can.

I would start with some side boxes built before I put the camper onto the trailer or I would like to find a short 5th wheel trailer. Take the 5th wheel off it's small frame and mount onto my trailer. As always no project is ever done and I would be updating stuff as I went.

Yes I was in Iraq in 2004, spent 14 years in the Army on active duty and then 14 years in the National Guard with the last 3 years being activated for Iraq. Got wounded in Oct 04 and then was medically retired in June, 06.

I'll agree that sometimes Dodge could do a better job on quality. As for trannies you're rolling the dice with any of them. If people would take care of them like they are suppose to they would last longer.

No I am not going to the Hammers. One year I do need to go and watch.

This is my tow rig now. 330HP Cat 6speed Allison tranny 33' w/no slides.
I got married in 09 and the new wife wanted more room than the camper. So I kind of agreed to trading off the truck, trailer & camper on this motorhome. I went almost 2 years driving a Chevy truck before I could get another Dodge. And then I found this 06 sitting on a lot last year and bought it. 06 only has a cat so no real smog stuff and easy to work on. Has the 48RE instead of the 47RE which is better. Once the Jeep is up and running I can start working on the truck. I'm shooting for 700-800 RWHP when I get done with it.
