What muffler did you use? How quiet was it? I have flowmaster 40's that are annoying as heck. I'm trying to make my truck as quiet as possible without sacrificing perfomance a whole lot.

Everything I've heard, they're pretty much the quietest out there that sounds good, but has great flow.

My Thrush Turbo is pretty quiet, but it flows much less than the Vortex.

Anything is better than a Blowmaster IMO.

+1 on cherrybomb vortex, i have a vortex catback system on my truck with a gutted cat. sounds good, it isnt really loud until you hammer on it an its not loud on the highway. probably more quiet than a flowmaster but the vortex out flows the super 44. cherrybombs website claims a 3 inch inlet vortex flows better than the glasspack and barely less than 3 inch straight pipe.

Going from a straightpipe to a glasspack losing bottom end is impossible. There is no restriction.

I'm honestly wondering how much of this is in your head. lol

So am I, I just need to stop thinking for a while. I reset the pcm and will give it a few days of nice driving then I'll be on a couple hundred mile drive and by then the pcm should be fully adjusted. Quick question, Hughes Engines or Hemifever for a future custom tune, prefer one over the other?

Hemifever. Sean is the best, though he's currently out of SCT tuners while we wait for the newest version. That with plenum fix was a real difference (got them both at same time pretty well).

@J415- I have a vortex and love it. Quiet til you stomp on it, great flow and best of all no drone!

That is going to be my next muffler once the Thrush is either rusted and ugly or I get more money. lol
