Default 1994 dodge ram 5.2 help

Hey guys,

I have dodge 1994 5.2 and i have the exact same problem. i started it and it stalled out and just died. It cranks but no spark. I have replaced everything i can think of: Ignition coil, Distributor(cam sensor, cap), Crank Shaft sensor, PCM. Here's what i do know...at the coil, im reciving 12v at ignition on for 3 sec. then i get nothing at crank...both cam & crank position sensors are getting power to them and returning voltage from them. I do not know what else to do. Please help.

Try swapping the ASD relay with the horn relay. And what brand sensors did you buy?

swapped relays and still nothing. Duralast is the brand name for the sensors. I checked all the wiring to the sensors and found no breaks. What i did find was that in the wiring harness had all ground wires just hooked together and most of the end of the wires were corroded. I fixed that and still same issue.

Hate to say it, but those Dura Crap sensors might be a contributing factor.

i had a feeling that might be the cause. I went and returned that sensor, and bought BW sensor. I called the Chrysler dealer and they told me that i cannot even get my hands on OEM sensor now, since the vehicle is so old. So Im going to install the BW sensor and hopefully that will solve my issue. I will let you know in couple hours. Thanks for your help.

Please remove the negative battery cable before replacing the sensor (any sensor for that matter).

Ok im happy to tell you that i got it!!!!!!!!!!! It was the damn wires in the harnes, Corroded. I was checking the ground on the VSS i kept losing ground on it. so i started digging into the wire harness coming from PCM, and there it was. Someone just taped the 7 ground wires together and then there were 3 more other wires that were corroded and falling apart. The ground was good on CPS & KPS but not on VSS. So there it is. I replaced all of those parts and i have to say that it does run better than it was before, I'm calling it a tune up. Well now on to the next topic.....the code 37 is torque converter clutch solenoid. The truck seems like it only shift to 2nd speed and thats it.

Congrats on fixin it. Did you have the negative battery cable disconnected while you did the repair? Check this link for the 37 code. http://dodgeram.info/Engine-Gas/OBDI/pcm_fault_code.htm
