Default I need help with my 98 dodge ram

I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9 360. I just did an engine swap on it with the same kind engine just with less miles than mine and 2yrs newer and it isn't wanting to run. it turns over and with my foot to the floor on the gas pedal it will sort of run a split second then die. i've tried two different computers and it does the same on both. i've checked all connections and they are all good and checked my cap and plugs for spark which it has. it also had good fuel pressure. it also threw the code p1495 on one computer but not the other. i am lost and don't know what to do so any help would be great.

Did your truck run well before engine swap?

If I'm reading correctly, you have a strong blue arc from the plugs and ~49psi of fuel pressure key on/running with a slooooow steady drop off after the truck is shut off?

Was the new engine compression tested before purchase? What were the readings?

As far as I know, you should be using the computer and harness that came with the new engine on your truck.

Also make sure the throttle linkage/throttle body valves are in good operating condition, ie not binding and that the idle air control motor is working correctly. If not, your truck will stall from air starvation.

By bringing it to a dealer with a DRBIII and having your fuel sync set. If the distributor position was moved during the swap, then your fuel sync will be off and truck wont run.

run for a sec and then dies, sounds like you a ground either loose or not hooked up. check the grounds that bolt particularly to the engine block.

Remove the pre cat o2 sensor and see if it starts. Also you might have damage the crank sensor if you didn't install it after the motor was in.

Fuel sync is computer controlled... So no, bring it to a dealer. Have you pulled the pre cat o2? That will let you know if your cat is clogged to the point of creating an excess of backpressure.
