I'm thinking it'll be easier to raise the bed since ill be doing this in my shop at home and I just filled the tank. I don't feel like siphoning it out.

Fuel pumps only fail when the tank is full.

Yeah, I understand that one.

It wouldn't work any other way. I was figuring it was the pump but wanted second opinions before I dumped $200 into the truck. Last winter the fuel gauge stopped working for a while then started again so I kinda forgot about it.

Thanks everyone for the replies!

Good luck figuring out all the wires that get screwed up after lifting the bed. Spend 10 minutes and siphon the tank.......

Default Dodge 5.7 Hemi Have to press Gas Pedal to Crank

I have a 2005 Dodge 1500 5.7 liter hemi that I have to press the gas pedal in order to get it to crank. I have replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, egr, purge, fuel filter and fuel pump, cleaned out throttle body, and it stills continues to not crank unless i press the gas pedal. Has anyone had trouble like this before and what could be the cause of it. My CEL is on and it coded out EGR again, but I just replaced it. Thanks for the help.

That's a different truck than what is discussed in this forum altogether, you will probably have better luck in the third gen forum
