Gas tank leaks in hot weather

Does this mean my emissions system is faulty? The tank is connected by a hose to the emissions canister to store the fumes. Maybe this is not working?
Put a rubber nipple and clamp on that port. It most likely had one at some point.

Was it leaking from a nibble right beside the tank (driver side about mid way)? My 1998 Ram Van 3500 is doing that. left it idling in hot weather for 10 minutes to find out a big puddle under the tank and gas was coming from that nibble.
Did you find out what the problem was? if so can you share the solution?
