My 95 Ram will not shift into overdrive. The light on the swit h does not illuminate. It is like the o/d is turned off. I believe that "on" is the default position for the switch, so if i turned the truck off and back on, the o/d should be on. I have heard that there is an o/d solenoid somewhere on the trans. and that could be the problem. Any suggestions?

The OD is on by default, light off. When the light is on, OD is off.
Download the factory service manual in the DIY/FAQ section, it has the info. you need to service the OD unit.
