Default Tailgate Problems

Gents,

Pulling open the tailgate on my '95 this past weekend and it fell into my hands. The cables are new, but the hinge was shot. The piece attached to the tailgate is rusted away, which looks easy enough to replace, but the nub part on the bed is completely rusted off and nearly impossible to see on the inside. Can anyone give me an idea of how I fix this or what it will require?

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure but if its the pin on the bed itself thats rusted I think you need to weld a new one on.

That's what I am afraid of. I was hoping it was some kind of through-bolt that could be drilled out and replaced.

Go to the junkyard, and get another tailgate?
