According to the instructions - I'm now at the point of re-installing my track bar. So... I then went and found new instructions for the DTBA27 track bar and will begin that soon. Yeah, I figure at least half way through the lift installation. Then it's onto finishing up the new steering components and then swapping over to the manual locking hub.

I have a bit of brake work to do, also want to redo the diffs, but that may wait a bit as the truck will see zero highways. So yeah... half way. I'm eye balling some headers as we speak ;o) I figure get all this done, through the truck on a flat bed and take it in for an alignment check then a true dual exhaust.

I would say do this once, have it made in stainless if you can, over here it's $16ft for 2.25 pipe so not cheap.

Don't cut that track bar until the very end of this job, you might not have to cut it but until the truck is on it tires sitting on the ground just install the TB loosely in it's bracket. Bolt in the TB bracket for sure while you still have access to that area.

Undo the bolt that goes through the brake line then install the big bolt at the end, then retq the brake line bolt. Also take a rattail file and chamfer off the edges of the bolt hole in that cam washer, when tq it will bind on the bolt.

Yeah, I got that. Took a bit of finess to get them all in, but it was all good. The stock hole on the passenger side of the cross member was already large enough to receive the bolt - though the instructions said to drill it 1/2" all the way through.

I was just curious if you had to fight with yours as well.

THAT all being said... this big *** bolt/nut has me stopping as I do not have anything large enough to tighten it. Son of a ... ;o) This kit has resulted in MUCH tool purchasing... Wrenches are not cheap... nor are sockets. Nor does CT have a socket large enough for that. Annnd... I've had a few beer, so I think making the trip to NAPA is out of the question (especially since all I have is the motorcycle at the moment).

Didn't the lift come with a list of tools youll need? I'm a mechanic by trade so theyre all in the toolbox on my truck.

I'm an Infantry Officer by trade, not a mechanic And here is the track bar instructions (which did not even come with the parts, I had to google them) : http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst...825-DTBA27.pdf

No tools list, nor to be honest, would I expect there to be one. It's more so I've never tackled half of this stuff, so I've been getting tools as I go.

Luckily, as I stood there gazing upon my truck with a beer in hand my neighbour decided to join me. He had some crescent wrenches, and we were able to tackle the larger bolt. So now... it's onto cutting as the track bar requires part of the sway bar bracket to be cut off.

I'd expect the kit to come with them. Even with the poorer quality of Rough country's lifts, they even come with one. I let the previous owner of the truck pay to have my BDS put on.

I'll definitely try and remember that COA (course of action) in the future Seems cheaper, and quicker!

That being said... I _am_ enjoying this. And I'm cleaning up the frame, painting, etc as I go. So no complaints really... except that I need more wrenches and sockets
