truck won't start

Try tapping on the solenoid with a hammer while turning the key. if it then turns the motor, time for at least a new solenoid, if not a new starter.

i put a jumper cable from truck battery negative to starter case for a ground and im getting the same results. solenoid kicks gear out and motor does not spin. the starter has a chrysler sticker on it still and is made by denso. if its original that starter is going on 16 years, im surpised it lasted this long.

yup...or the dirt inside the starter is just to heavy of a clog... since the hammer didnt unlock it.

got a new starter today. installed it and truck fired right up
