If it were me and I had the cash I would add leaves. It will allow you to put more load on the truck safely. It's more expensive especially if you have to have a mechanic do it and not yourself. I am looking to do this next summer before I purchase a truck bed camper.

Have you thought about air bags? You can keep your current ride quality, then when you want to haul something, air them up and you have equal strength of AAL and 2500 springs, if not better. Plus you can air them up to your ride quality likings.

+1 I liked the airbags in my truck when I had them, only way to go when hauling a load.
