Default Headlight Switch compatibility '95 / '99 Ram

Needing to put in a new headlight switch in my 1995 Ram. Pulled a switch from the dash of a '99 truck while I was in the junkyard (cheep). while I doubt this is going to be a plug-n-play switch, will it work if I can get the wiring to match up?

I'm hoping I can avoid the issues with the older switches they used from '94 - '97.

Thanks in advance for any help or insight you can provide.

What was the issue they had with these switches? My 96 is original with 200,000+ miles on it.

As far a swapping switches, their not even close.
Do yourself a favor and buy the correct one and put it in there.
Bring up both switches on rockauto.com and compare.
I have done more then my share of rewiring vehicles and i would not wast my time on this.
I would spend the money on the right switch.

switches are cheap. I would just get a new one from the parts guy.

Default Thanks

That's kinda what I figured the answer would be. BTW, if you need a '99 Light/dimmer switch, it's free for the cost of shipping to anyone on this board
