I was driving home tonight, being stupid and flooring it in the process, and saw a flash under the hood. The hood wasn't closed all the way so it could jut me the under hood light but the second latch was still latched. I took a glance in the engine compartment for scorching and saw nothing but not a full inspection. Any recommendations on what else to check for?

 

It was probably just the under hood light that you saw flash, as long as its still running alright I wouldn`t worry about it.

 

+1 - Likely the under hood light. Mine used to do that until I disconnected the wire to the light. Now, I only plug the light in when I need the light while the hood is open.
