Default Ignition Switch Light?

Okay I have searched this forum, and I believe that my Ignition Light has never worked, but I am not sure, I took the column apart today and swapped out new bulbs, and the bulb get's no power, the plug for it that goes into the Ignition Switch, only has two wires, a blue and an orange and black, and the plug has no power to it at all in any situation.(I think I seen somewhere that it needs four wires to be supplied power?, and if it only had two, it was one of the model's they left the light out on?) this is on a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT.

should be easy enough to just splice in a power wire from the headlight switch for the fog lamps.

For just the one light? Everything else works that the CTM should/would control, the plug only has two wires, were i've read that it needs 4 wires for power, I tried following the two wires that connected to the Ignition switch, and they didn't seem to go anywhere after following into the harness with like 30 different wires lol.

Ah, well from what I gathered after messing with the thing all day, and looking in the manual, I believe the seatbelt warning is working as it should in my 2000 Dodge RAM, All the connectors are working, and according to the manual it is supposed to chime 7 times when the ignition is on, or less if you click your seatbelt in before the 7 chimes, it does this, I didn't read in the manual tha tit is supposed to continuously chime when driving, or show the seatbelt light, if it is supposed to show the seatbelt light, then that's the only issue I am seeing, but according to the manual, the 7 chimes is the only no seatbelt warning system in my '00.

² Fasten Seat Belt Warning - The Central
Timer Module (CTM) chime tone generator will generate
repetitive chime tones at a slow rate to
announce that a hard wired input from the seat belt
switch to the Electro-Mechanical Instrument Cluster
(EMIC) indicates that the driver side front seat belt
is not fastened with the ignition switch in the On
position. Unless the driver side front seat belt is fastened,
the chimes will continue to sound for a duration
of about seven seconds each time the ignition
switch is turned to the On position or until the driver
side front seat belt is fastened, whichever occurs
first. This chime tone is based upon a hard wired
chime request input to the CTM from the EMIC, but
is not related to the operation of the EMIC “Seatbelt”
indicator.

Okay, re-reading the manual, it seems that if the seatbelt is disengaged, the light will come on, but it doesn't so the problem has to be somewhere with the belt mechanism itself? What is all used in detecting that the seatbelt is buckled? Inside the side panel there is a ground wire coming from the seatbelt retractor plug, that is plugged into the belt itself, should I unscrew, clean and rescrew that ground in? Or what could it be preventing the light from detecting that the seatbelt has been buckled.

You're mixing your threads man.
I know in my 97 2500 Laramie SLT 4x4 the belt light doesn't stay on, or continue to chime if I don't put my seatbelt on. I think Merc is right you may have a larger issues causing these symptoms. As far as the ignition light I don't know why they would leave that out on some models/years. Every other Ram I've seen has the light.

Well maybe the '00 is the same as the '97 where it only chimes and goes off when the car start's, maybe it was different in the '01 models and up, and as far as the light goes, I have done a forum search, and plenty of people seem to say that some models don't have the ignition light working, as Chrystler wanted to save a few bucks and didn't install them in some model's I have the wire though it only has two wires, instead of the four that I have seen for working ignition lights, the fresh bulb, but no power to the ring, I have no other issues to speak of that I have ran into, except thinking the light may stay on when unbuckled, but in a 2001+ it may be different? It's not a big issue, I just got confused lol.
