That looks nice and is fine and dandy if you have a 97 and below but for 98 and above it ain't quite that easy. I've had the cb delima for quite somettime and still haven't came up with a good idea.

1500 sport - check out my post above....this has worked well!

Man all you guys with the auto trans have soooo much more room. Not that I wanted a automatic but I envy the room you get when you remove the stickshifter. I have a old cobra 148gtl that i bought from a estate sale. The thing was never used still in plastic. This radio is the grand daddy of radios when you want to mod them out. Anyhow I will be mounting mine to the roof of the cab. Once I figure out how to not mess up the head liner and mount it securely to the roof Im going to do it. Saw a semi truck a few days ago with this done and it looked mightly fine. Nice part about this mounting spot is you have all the switches and controls about head level and you dont have to bend down and take your eyes off the road to use it. Ill post some picures up when i finish. Have to mount my bed cover first.

cheers

A Cobra 29 is NOT going to fit in your ashtray - unless you cut half the dash out with it!

However, and this is personal opinion based on years of playing with CB's, any radio that would fit in your ashtray is nowhere near comparable with the performance and tuning options available for a 29, 148, Galaxy, Connex, etc. If you have an auto tranny in your truck I would strongly suggest buying a bigger radio and mounting it like mine. (pic in above post) Or mounting it on the roof like zeexxx was talking about.
