I agree that it has a more raspy tone to it. I'm not a fan but it already was straight pipe when I bought it and I gutted the cat due to it being messed up anyways. If I keep it I plan on redoing the exhaust to make it sound better but for now it will do.

I would say remove cat and replace with straight pipe, and throw some thrush glasspacks on it. Theyre nice and long so they arent too loud and they have a nice deep tone, plus theyre perforated core, not louvered core. Functionally Id say theyre something along the lines of a cheep, non-stainless magnaflow.

Fixed that for ya.

Using a O2 simulator for the front O2 will make the engine run, but, it won't be running as good as it could. The PCM NEEDS that sensor for feedback, to give the engine the right amount of fuel. Not some random amount as determined by a little box that merely alters a voltage at some random interval.

With an O2 sensor in the front one, at least.... you will get better power, better fuel economy, and fewer emissions. Better all the way around.

to each their own, personally i like the no muffler sound. Yeah its loud, but it sounds good, better than youd probbably think. and its not stupid loud unless youre on it all the time you can still drive through a neighborhood reasonably. regardless, thank you for the replies about the cat, seems like its definitely worth doing
